Mar 1 - Mar 2, 2014: Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada

Here are some of the pictures from the Niagara Falls.
I think these photographs describe the place enough.

Skylon Tower

I was surprised most people at Niagara Falls didn't seem like they were there to watch the falls. Well, I'm sure this picture explains enough...

I was thinking about a marshmallow floating in a cup of hot chocolate. I needed one.

My favorite pic of the night

Empty IHOP at 1 AM

It's always good, no matter what time you go there

Feb 28 - Mar 1, 2014: Windsor, Ontario, Canada

One of the benefits of going to school in Ann Arbor is that Canada (still technically a foreign nation) is only 40 minutes away. At 3:30 in the morning, February 28, the day spring break (although the university doesn't necessarily recognize -10 F weather as "spring") started, I decided to go to Canada for a few days. Well, the trip ended up being 4 days long. So I booked a hotel room in Windsor, the city shares its border with Detroit, and simply left later that day without any plan.

This guy (or girl) wished me a safe trip when I was pulling out of the parking lot
Canada was closer than I thought. There was barely anyone on the highway to Detroit on Friday afternoon. As soon as I got off the highway, I saw the entrance to Detroit-Windsor tunnel sitting right under the General Motors headquarters. After driving through the tunnel for about 3 minutes, I had to stop at the border customs. Canadian TSA officer looked confused to see a college kid with a Delaware plated car, Michigan drivers license and South Korean passport. But I was set to go after answering more than a few questions and now was in Canada!
The view from my hotel room. You can see the frozen Detroit River and the General Motors headquarters across the river

This was one of the best sushi I have ever had! (I know you are jealous)
And the $5 lunch teriyaki wasn't too bad.

After taking a long nap, I headed down to this place.

It was nuts.

I spent $30 at buffet and lost another $30 on slot machines.
At least I know I'm not going back there any time soon!

After coming back to my room, I had to comfort myself.
The name of the beer on the left was the only measure I could realize I was in Canada during the entire trip
Just saying, this was perfectly legal! (Drinking age in Ontario is 19)

Anyway, I woke up next day morning and was informed that the elevators weren't working. So I walked 20 stairs down to go to breakfast buffet. Then, I was told that the power of the whole building went out. It was bizarre. But I'm not going to complain too much since they took 50% off my bill when I checked out!

Around noon that day, I left Windsor and left to the Niagara Falls.
